And then we engaged in some watersports as consenting adults....

Hey everyone,

Amy here from the Istanbul airport. We just finished our six nights at the Watermill and are waiting for our connecting flight to Sanliurfa (or just Urfa) in the southeast part of Turkey. We thought we would update the blog with what we did with our last couple of days.

After all of the geese beating, we decided to lay low and hike into our favourite little beach - Kabak. Here is my stud of a husband taking in the scenery during the 30 minute hike down. Hands off ladies!

View of Kabak where Turkish hippies and translucent Canadians in search of sun and vitamin D go.

By searching for sun and vitamin D, I meant hiding from the blistering rays under this little hut thingy.

Hiking down = pretty easy. Hiking up = holy crap, it's freakin HOT. Though extensive, swass was covered up for the purposes of this photo. Eunice and Dorothy: Swass is a combination of two words. The young kids say it. Take a guess what it means.

The next day after our Kabak adventure and a shower (I felt golden!), we went sailing on his boat, not hers.

We stopped at numerous islands in the Aegean for swimming, tea and lunch. This little cove was one of our favourites. The water was beautiful and clear and warmer than Williams Lake (Lomond SHOUT OUT!).

Turkish tea served sans tea bag.

Check out my O-Ring.

Contemplative Lance is my favourite.

When Lance and I win the lottery, we are going to buy a sailboat and that island in the background. Yes, that is a private island in the background.

Watersports make for a happy, connected couple.

After we were back on dry land, I was starving for some carbs. Not being able to eat rice and bread is quite difficult in Turkey and I have developed a french fry addiction in lieu of. We decided to eat at the Kebab Hospital....

I probably would have found this more offensive if I was still a vegetarian....but times have changed and those cute liddle lambs are tasty (especially with fries)! Sorry Doro and Mark.

Lastly, here is a picture taken from a lookout point just outside of Oludeniz (about 8 km from the Watermill) on our last night. Isaac thank you for the digital photography book - it has come in useful for Lance-O.

That's it for now everyone. We will post in a couple of days to let you know how Urfa is.

Love you all,
Splish and Splash

  1. Great to see the updates finally, I was wondering wtf was happening over there. (Plus our internet was down for 5 days #firstWorldProblems) So Lance, the only update for the Lockout is there is no update....but Justin Schultz and Taylor Fedun are lighting it up for the OKC Barons.

Nice photos by the way....now the sweaty one....by the power of math I conclude that the Swass level is at a 12 out of 14....nasty...
